Perm Scientific Centre, RAS UD
Perm Scientific Centre, the Ural Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, was created on the basis of the institutions of the Academy of Sciences, located in Perm, by the resolution of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1988. PSC RAS UD is headed by Academician Valeriy Pavlovich Matveenko.
Currently the staff consist of 701 employees, including 273 scientists, two academicians, two corresponding members, 68 doctors of sciences and 183 candidates of sciences.

Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics, RAS UD
The Institute is the successor of the Department of Physics of Polymers of the Ural Scientific Centre of the USSR Academy of Sciences which was founded in 1980. The main areas of research at the Institute are the study of regularities in deformation and fracture of solids, hydrodynamic stability, turbulence, magnetic hydrodynamics and physical-chemical hydrodynamics of polymers, suspensions and magnetic fluids.
The Institute includes 12 laboratories with 154 staff members, including one RAS Academician, 21 Doctors of Sciences and 48 Candidates of Sciences.

Institute of Technical Chemistry, RAS UD
The Institute was established in 1985 on the basis of the Chemistry Department of the Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics of the Ural Scientific Centre of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The main areas of research are creating materials with organic polymers and inorganic compounds and developing synthetic methods for the production of organic compounds, including biologically active compounds.
The Institute consists of seven laboratories and one scientific and production group; the staff of 107 members includes 12 Doctors of Sciences and 35 Candidates of Sciences.
The Institute was established in 1985 on the basis of the Chemistry Department of the Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics of the Ural Scientific Centre of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The Institute was established in 1988. The scientific concept of the Institute is based on comprehensive research on development laws of geo-systems and optimal control of their parameters under natural and anthropogenic effects.

Institute of Ecology and Genetics of Microorganisms, RAS UD
The Institute was established in 1988 on the basis of the Department of Ecology and Selection of Microorganisms at the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Scientific Centre of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The basis for the scientific concept of the Institute is research in microbiology and immunology of micro and macro-organisms.
The Institute includes 10 laboratories with 139 staff members, including one Academician, two RAS Corresponding Members, 13 Doctors of Sciences and 35 Candidates of Sciences.

The Affiliate has twelve staff members, including one Doctor of Sciences and seven Candidates of Sciences.
